Go.Thrive. provides employers with a holistic and comprehensive understanding of the skills available throughout their entire workforce, removing the need for guesswork. By leveraging Strategic Workforce Planning, companies can design and implement their people strategy effectively, addressing crucial areas such as diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, learning and development, talent mobility, skill gaps, skill growth, succession planning, retention, values, talent attraction, and performance. With these insights, employers can make informed decisions to optimise their workforce and foster a positive work environment.
Most employment marketplaces struggle with ongoing engagement, impacting user retention and reducing product stickiness. A primary issue is the tedious and repetitive process of filling out multiple forms with various application methods, making job searching a daily challenge for users. Without a streamlined experience, job seekers often abandon platforms in favour of more intuitive solutions.
The primary objective was to build an online platform that would be embraced and adopted by employers and job seekers.
The platform needed to:
Deliver an engaging user experience for job seekers by incorporating personalised recommendations and relevant job opportunities, assisting them in finding aspirational roles.
Streamline the job application process to make it quick and easy, reducing the number of required forms.
Improve search and filtering functionality to make finding and applying for jobs more efficient.
Provide an easy-to-use and accessible ecosystem for administrators to manage job applications and communication.
As the only end-to-end designer on the project, I worked alongside a Product Manager and the Head of Design, taking the project from discovery to a developer-ready handover.
My contributions included:
Researching and refining initial concepts explored by a previous designer to align with Go.Thrive’s objectives.
Creating wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to validate ideas and enhance the user journey.
Designing high-fidelity UI components and incorporating material design principles for both mobile and desktop applications.
Developing detailed documentation to support the design process and ensure seamless developer implementation.
Leading workshops with key stakeholders from Go.Thrive. to align design strategies with business goals.
Collaborating closely with a developer to implement strategic design solutions that improve user experience and engagement.
A significant challenge emerged before the project even began, as discrepancies between commercial and customer expectations resulted in milestone dates being brought forward. This shift in deadlines impacted downstream requirements and acceptance criteria for core design features, forcing the team to work within constrained timelines. Additionally, modifying user behaviour regarding engagement with an employment marketplace required a well-thought-out approach, integrating a rewards system and small incremental steps to encourage sustained participation.
The results of the Go.Thrive. platform are still to be determined, as the application is currently in development and seeking further funding.
However, early indicators show:
Increased interest in the platform, with positive reception from stakeholders and early adopters.
A promising approach to job seeker engagement through personalisation and improved application processes.
A growing company presence, signaling potential for long-term impact in the employment marketplace sector.
While the full impact of Go.Thrive. is yet to be realised, the project has already garnered interest from users and stakeholders. By designing an intuitive and engaging platform, Go.Thrive. is positioning itself as a strong competitor in the employment marketplace industry. Once officially released to the public, the platform is expected to redefine how job seekers and employers interact, ultimately leading to improved user retention and business growth.
Additionally, Go.Thrive. is still in the process of figuring out its direction and design aesthetic, having since undergone another redesign. This evolution highlights the company’s commitment to refining its platform to better meet the needs of its users and stakeholders.
